Gut Health
This is the one I find most interesting, because of how different it is. Every other gut test I know of needs a stool sample. This one is a blood spot, the same finger poke as the others.
A stool sample tells you who is living in your gut. This test tells you how those bacteria are doing: how they are converting your food into energy. That is a different question, and it is a good starting point.
Your annual physical does not cover this one.
The omega connection
The barrier between your gut and your bloodstream is a single layer of specialized cells, which makes it thin and sensitive to inflammation. Research links the omega 6 to 3 balance to how well that barrier holds up, which is one reason these two tests often get looked at together.
